ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia volleyball finally lost at home. No. 19 Texas A&M took three of four sets from the Bulldogs on Friday night at Stegeman Coliseum, taking the first, third and fourth sets by scores of 25-23, 25-21 and 25-23 after dropping the second 25-18. The crowd was 2,079.

The result ended a three-match winning run for Georgia, which slipped to 14-4 overall and 6-2 in the SEC. The Aggies improved to 12-8 and 5-3 in league play with their second win in a row.

Bianna Muoneke did all she could for the home side. The senior outside hitter piled up 26 kills, tied for the third most by a Bulldog in a four-set match in the rally scoring era, and also had 13 digs and three blocks for her sixth double-double of the year. Tori Harper added 10 kills on .389 hitting, and setter Chloe Elarton handed out 36 assists with 13 digs.

Georgia dug 63 balls, its best total in a four-set match this season, but Texas A&M kept finding answers. Kyndal Stowers led the visitors with 14 kills and 16 digs, Natalie Ring added 13 kills while hitting .333, and Kaia Castle posted a season-high seven blocks. The Aggies also served a season-best nine aces.

The fourth set swung both ways. Georgia jumped out 5-1 and tied it at 23 late, but a Ring kill closed out the set and the match. Earlier, a 7-0 run with Megan Fitch serving put the Aggies in control of the opening set. Georgia pulled within 24-22 in that frame before Taryn Morris ended it with a kill, and Morris also finished the third set as Texas A&M closed with six kills over its last 10 points.

Elsewhere in the box, Alyssa Worden had 12 digs, libero Ana Julia Bleeker served three of Georgia’s six aces, and Harper and Kendal Kemp each had four blocks. On the other side, Gabi Rodriguez led all players with 18 digs.
