SAVANNAH, Ga. — Forsyth Park turned into a daylong party and resource fair Saturday as the 27th annual Savannah Pride Festival drew thousands of people from across Coastal Georgia.
Organizers had planned for roughly 5,000 visitors, and more than 100 vendors and community groups set up across the park. The 2026 theme, Chosen Family: Love Beyond Fear, put the spotlight on the support networks that LGBTQIA+ people build for themselves.
The day opened with a sensory-conscious market, a quieter setting meant for guests with different sensory needs. Later the park filled with drag acts, DJ sets, stage shows, lawn games and a row of food trucks. Club One comedians Blair Williams and Chi Chi Bonet Sherrington were back as hosts on the park stage, and a glow and foam party carried the celebration into the night.
Savannah Pride Center executive director Michael Bell said the festival lasts one day but the group serves people all year. He said someone dancing in the park on Saturday might later walk through the center’s doors seeking a doctor, counseling, housing help or HIV prevention services.
That year-round work was on display at the booths. At one table, staff from Positive Impact Health Centers walked visitors through options for HIV and STI testing and treatment, along with behavioral health care, transportation and housing support. The Savannah Pride Center, a nonprofit, links people with affirming medical care, mental health services, emergency housing aid, support groups and programs for both young people and seniors.
The festival has been part of the city’s calendar for close to three decades.
