RINGGOLD, Ga. — With Election Day on Tuesday, both candidates in Georgia’s U.S. Senate race spent the final weekend crossing the state to get their voters to the polls.

Republican Rep. Mike Collins rallied supporters in Ringgold in northwest Georgia, blaming the inflation of recent years on economic policies passed under the Biden administration with the support of Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff. Collins told the crowd the midterm comes down to turnout and urged them to vote.

Ossoff campaigned in Douglasville alongside Georgia’s other senator, Democrat Raphael Warnock. He called Georgia the most important battleground in the country, said he was taking nothing for granted, and argued that high prices and tariffs are hurting families, businesses and farmers. He also pointed to strong turnout among young voters and said his campaign would spend its final hours protecting access to the ballot.

Public polling has leaned toward the incumbent. An Echelon Insights survey of 508 voters taken in late October showed Ossoff ahead 55% to 40%, and a University of Georgia survey of 1,000 voters released Oct. 21 put him up 48% to 40%. An ActiVote poll from Oct. 20 had Ossoff ahead 54% to 46%, with Collins winning rural and older voters and Ossoff carrying suburban, urban and younger voters.

Polling averages give Ossoff a better than 80% chance of winning, but the governor’s race at the top of the ballot looks much closer. Recent surveys show Democrat Keisha Lance Bottoms and Republican Rick Jackson separated by only a few points.

Polls in Georgia open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Voters in line at closing time can still cast a ballot.
