Additionally, financial contributions can be made through W.O.R.D’s website, with a fundraising goal of $1,000 to support the initiative. Online donations will be accepted until July 18th.

This supply drive is a collaborative effort involving W.O.R.D’s alumni and local organizations such as The Children Soar and Elevating Young Kings. The organization aims to ensure every child has the tools necessary to succeed academically as they return to school in the fall.

The Back 2 School Supply Drive is just one of many community events focusing on assisting families prepare for the upcoming school year. On the same day as the supply drive, Flau’jae Johnson’s Giveback Festival will occur at Enmarket Arena from 4 PM to 8 PM, providing attendees with free book bags, uniforms, shoes, and headphones.   • Annual Back to School Expo: This event serves Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools students and families.
  • Back to School Bash: Taking place at Woodlawn Baptist Church on July 27, from 10 AM to 12 PM, this event will feature snacks, games, and school supplies.
  • Savannah Police Department Distribution: Free backpacks and supplies will be available on July 27 at Daffin Park from 11 AM to 2 PM.
  • Chatham Subaru’s Back to School Drive Family Fun Day: On July 27 at Enmarket Arena, offering 1,000 stuffed book bags from noon to 4 PM.
  • 4th Annual Back 2 School Fest: Scheduled for July 27 from 1 PM to 4 PM at Bull Street Baptist Church, providing book bags and gas cards.
  • Feed the Hungry’s Back 2 School Giveaway: This will run on July 27 from 3 PM to 5 PM at its Empowerment Center.
  • Back to School Block Rock: Conducted by Front Porch youth organization on July 27 at Savannah Civic Center from 4 PM to 6 PM.
  • Gospel on the Greens Back to School Block Party: Scheduled for July 28 at 6 PM at First Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, featuring a concert and family activities.
