Savannah, Ga. – Multiple Missing Children Cases Resolved
In a series of developments on July 18, authorities in Savannah confirmed the safe recoveries of three missing children. Twelve-year-old Erika Scott and three-year-old Leilani Elliott were located, and are now safe, while ten-year-old Amira Green is still being sought.
Erika Scott was reported missing early Saturday morning after being last seen at her home in the 1000 block of W. 53rd Street around 2 a.m. Following an urgent plea for public assistance from the Savannah Police Department, she was located unharmed. The police initially asked that anyone with information regarding her whereabouts contact 911.
Amira Green was reported missing on the same day and was last seen Friday evening in the 500 block of Windsor Road. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing black pants with a design on the leg and a matching black shirt. Described as approximately 10 years old, a released photo showed her smiling, with braided hair.
In a separate incident, a statewide Levi’s Call, which is Georgia’s Amber Alert System, was activated for three-year-old Leilani Elliott. She was reported taken without permission during a supervised visit and was last observed around 10:20 a.m. on Thursday near 825 Wheaton Street. Authorities believed that she was with a relative, Jessy Elliott, who was last seen walking east on Wheaton Street towards East Broad Street shortly before 10:45 a.m.
Leilani was taken from the 900 block of Wheaton Street, and at the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a yellow hoodie, dark leggings, and white shoes. Jessy Elliott, aged 32, was reported to have brown hair with blond ends styled in a ponytail, wearing a blue or teal tank top and blue jeans or leggings. Investigators indicated that Jessy Elliott might have been traveling in a white Nissan Altima manufactured between 2020 and 2022.
The Levi’s Call was ultimately canceled around 9:30 a.m. on Friday when it was confirmed that Leilani had been located and was safe. However, the circumstances surrounding her initial disappearance remain under investigation and authorities are continuing to look into the case.
Despite these recoveries, the search for Amira Green continues. The Savannah Police Department is still urging the public’s assistance, encouraging anyone with information to report it by calling 911 or contacting the police directly.
