W.O.R.D, Inc. is organizing its first Back 2 School Supply Drive in Savannah on July 26th, providing essential supplies to K-12 students. Community members can donate supplies until July 24th or contribute financially to meet a fundraising goal of $1,000. This initiative collaborates with local organizations to support families as the school year approaches, coinciding with several other community events aimed at easing back-to-school expenses.
Savannah, GA – W.O.R.D, Inc. is set to launch its inaugural Back 2 School Supply Drive on Saturday, July 26th, from 12 PM to 4 PM, at the parking lot of Simple Soul of Savannah. The event is open to students in grades K-12 and aims to provide essential school supplies to local families in need.
Community members can participate by dropping off school supplies at donation bins located at several partnered businesses until July 24th, the final day for supply donations. Additionally, financial contributions can be made through W.O.R.D’s website, with a fundraising goal of $1,000 to support the initiative. Online donations will be accepted until July 18th.
This supply drive is a collaborative effort involving W.O.R.D’s alumni and local organizations such as The Children Soar and Elevating Young Kings. The organization aims to ensure every child has the tools necessary to succeed academically as they return to school in the fall.
The Back 2 School Supply Drive is just one of many community events focusing on assisting families prepare for the upcoming school year. On the same day as the supply drive, Flau’jae Johnson’s Giveback Festival will occur at Enmarket Arena from 4 PM to 8 PM, providing attendees with free book bags, uniforms, shoes, and headphones.
