Event Details

The roadshow will kick off at Savannah Technical College’s Eckburg Auditorium on August 12, followed by stops at the Middle Georgia Regional Commission at Macon Mall on August 13, and Gwinnett Technical College in Lawrenceville on August 14. Each event is set to run from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., providing an informative platform for discussions and showcases.

Participants can register for the event in advance at no cost, which includes complimentary lunch for fleet and government attendees. Commissioner Tim Echols will host the series, leading fast-paced panel discussions with industry experts who will delve into the latest technologies tailored for municipal and commercial fleet operators. Topics will include public vehicle charging and the trends associated with alternative fuel vehicles.

In response to evolving federal policies on energy, Cox Automotive will share data trends regarding electric vehicle adoption and workforce development initiatives. Collaborations with local technical schools, including Savannah Tech, Central Georgia Tech, and Gwinnett Tech, underscore the emphasis on building a skilled workforce to meet the growing demands of the alternative fuel sector.

Roundtables and Demonstrations

The event will also feature an EV Charging Technologies roundtable presented by Georgia Power, which will outline existing programs and rebate opportunities for establishing charging stations. In addition, Blue Bird, Yancey Bus, Alliance Autogas, and Bibb County Schools will showcase the application of Propane AutoGas in diverse sectors such as education, public transport, agriculture, and logistics.

Atlanta Gas Light and the Municipal Gas Authority of Georgia will present insights into the increasing role of natural gas in heavy-duty vehicle operations, including developments in Renewable Natural Gas production through partnerships with local dairy farmers. In an exciting development, Hyundai and HydroFleet will announce their partnership focusing on hydrogen production and its integration into fuel cell vehicles at Hyundai’s new Metaplant in Bryan County.
