Savannah, Georgia – On June 12, 2025, Make-A-Wish Georgia announced the appointment of four new advisory board members dedicated to supporting the organization’s mission in the Savannah area. The newly formed board will focus on promoting awareness and expanding the reach of Make-A-Wish Georgia throughout the Coastal Empire, aiming to grant more wishes to critically ill children.
Among the newly appointed members are Zachary Thomas of Zachary H. Thomas Law, P.C., Jamie Coleman from the Local Management Group, Katie Davis, a Marketing Specialist at EOM Worx, and Kal Patel, who serves as President and Chief Operating Officer of Image Hotels. These individuals will serve a two-year term on the advisory board, with the potential for renewal based on their contributions and ongoing commitment to the organization.
Make-A-Wish Georgia, which has consistently granted an average of 32 wishes each year in the southeastern region of Georgia, plays a significant role in providing memorable experiences for children battling critical illnesses. The support and dedication of the advisory board aim to amplify these efforts and raise community awareness regarding the importance of making wishes come true.
In addition to the new advisory board appointments, Make-A-Wish Georgia is collaborating with Leopold’s Ice Cream—a cherished Savannah establishment with a century-long legacy. This partnership will launch a fundraising campaign starting April 1, 2025. During the campaign, a special limited-time ice cream flavor called Pinango Banapple will be introduced. This unique flavor combines pineapple, mango, banana, and apple, and is set to celebrate the story of a young boy named Sun, whose wish to visit Hawaii was granted by Make-A-Wish Georgia.
Throughout the month of April, a portion of the proceeds from each scoop of Pinango Banapple sold will be donated to Make-A-Wish Georgia, contributing to the funding needed to fulfill other children’s wishes. The campaign is designed to encourage community involvement and highlight collective efforts to improve the lives of children facing life-threatening medical conditions.
The creation of the advisory board and the partnership with Leopold’s Ice Cream represent strategic steps by Make-A-Wish Georgia to strengthen its impact in the Savannah area. Tim Earley, President and CEO of Make-A-Wish Georgia, highlighted the importance of the new board members’ contributions and the unwavering support crucial for the organization’s mission—granting heartfelt wishes to children in need.
The organization’s long-standing presence in the region emphasizes its commitment to positively affecting the lives of children and their families during challenging times. With the collaboration of local businesses and community leaders, Make-A-Wish Georgia seeks to enhance its outreach and efficacy in fulfilling its promise of hope and happiness.
As the campaign with Leopold’s Ice Cream approaches, residents of Savannah are encouraged to participate in this initiative not only by indulging in a delightful flavor but also by actively supporting the organization’s goal of granting wishes. Engaging the community through such efforts reinforces the idea that everyone can make a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
The establishment of new advisory board members and the unique fundraising campaign reflect a bright future for Make-A-Wish Georgia’s endeavors to expand its reach and impact in granting wishes for children facing critical illnesses in the Coastal Empire.
