The shooting took place on April 5, 2025, around 10:30 p.m. in the 800 block of Tatem Street, where officers found Rasheen Adkins suffering from a gunshot wound. He was later pronounced dead from his injuries during the night.

In connection with the case, other individuals face separate charges of tampering with evidence. These include Andrew Leroy Barnwell, Shantea Bright, and Harry Emanuel Bright. Nyquan Small, however, is the sole individual facing murder charges related to the shooting incident.

The trial for Nyquan Small is scheduled to commence in February 2026.

The victim in the Darling Street shooting sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the foot. This investigation remains ongoing.
