News Summary

The Pooler Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau has appointed Kate E. Miller as its new president and CEO. With over 13 years of experience, Miller aims to enhance community engagement and drive local business growth. Her leadership comes at a crucial time as the city continues to grow, following the departure of former president Courtney Rawlins. Miller’s strategic initiatives will focus on promoting tourism and supporting local businesses during this transitional phase.

Pooler Welcomes New Leadership at Chamber of Commerce

The Pooler Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau (PCCVB) has appointed Kate E. Miller as its new president and chief executive officer, effective June 20, 2025. Miller brings over 13 years of chamber leadership experience to her new role, which includes overseeing chamber operations, strategic planning, membership programs, and tourism activities.

Before her appointment at PCCVB, Miller served as president and CEO of the Middleton Chamber of Commerce in Wisconsin, where she emphasized member engagement, workforce development, and the establishment of strategic partnerships. Miller’s arrival at the Pooler Chamber is timely, as the city continues to evolve and grow.

Responsibilities and Goals

In her position, Miller will work closely with city and regional partners to enhance Pooler as a desirable location to live, work, visit, and invest. Her leadership is expected to play a significant role in promoting local businesses and tourism efforts, helping to guide the organization’s strategic direction as it responds to the needs of the community and its members.

The announcement of Miller’s appointment comes in the wake of Courtney Rawlins’ departure from the chamber. Rawlins, who led the PCCVB since May 2022, decided to explore new opportunities beyond the organization. During Rawlins’ tenure, the Chamber experienced notable growth, increasing its annual revenue from $97,000 to over $400,000 and membership by 88%. Her efforts also included the introduction of Pooler’s first Hotel Tourism book and the launch of a successful digital marketing campaign aimed at boosting visitation to the area.

Focus on Community During Transition

As the chamber undergoes this leadership transition, PCCVB is dedicated to minimizing any disruption to chamber services and activities. The organization has expressed its commitment to ensuring a seamless transition as it continues to support its members and the broader community of Pooler.

Context on Pooler’s Growth

Pooler has been experiencing rapid growth in recent years, attracting new residents and businesses alike. This development has created an increasing demand for a robust Chamber of Commerce that can effectively support the local economy and cater to the diverse needs of its members. The strategic initiatives that Miller will implement are set against this backdrop of growth, highlighting the importance of adaptive leadership in the chamber’s future.

Miller’s extensive experience in chamber leadership positions her well to navigate the challenges and opportunities that come with this pivotal role in a thriving community. As she steps into this leadership position, there are high expectations for continued innovation and engagement to ensure that the Pooler Chamber remains a vital resource for its members and the community at large.
