Rana Edgar has been named Vice President of Resource Development at the United Way of the Coastal Empire, starting April 28, 2025. With over a decade in non-profit fundraising, her extensive experience aims to enhance resource development efforts in the community. Edgar’s previous roles include leadership at Telfair Museums and the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts. Her commitment to community engagement positions her well to further the organization’s mission across multiple counties in Georgia.
Savannah, Georgia – Rana Edgar has been appointed as the new Vice President of Resource Development at the United Way of the Coastal Empire, beginning her tenure on April 28, 2025. In this critical role, Edgar will spearhead ongoing fundraising initiatives, working closely with dedicated volunteers to secure the necessary financial resources to further the organization’s mission of improving lives across Bryan, Chatham, Effingham, Liberty, and Long counties.
With more than a decade of experience in non-profit fundraising, leadership, and programming, Edgar is well-equipped to drive resource development efforts at United Way. Her previous experience includes serving as the Director of Institutional Advancement at Telfair Museums, where she significantly enhanced membership, donations, and grant support. During her tenure at Telfair, Edgar played a pivotal role in the development of the Children’s Art Museum at the Jepson Center, demonstrating her ability to lead successful initiatives in the cultural sector.
Prior to her work at Telfair, Edgar was the Director of Education and Programs at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts. There, she contributed to a successful $142 million capital campaign, showcasing her expertise in large-scale fundraising efforts. Her career has also included significant roles at Paint Creek Center for the Arts, Macomb Community College, and the SCAD Museum of Art. Edgar’s academic qualifications include an M.A. in Art History from Savannah College of Art and Design and a B.F.A. in Photography from the College for Creative Studies.
Edgar’s community engagement further underscores her commitment to the region. She is an active member of multiple advisory boards, contributes to art registries, and has presented at museum conferences across the country. Her engagement in local organizations extends to membership in the Savannah Rotary, the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Coastal Georgia, and participation in the Junior League of Savannah since 2021. Additionally, she serves as a volunteer professor at the Medical School at Mercer University, demonstrating her dedication to education and community service.
