Atlanta, Georgia – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has announced the appointment of Sara Lue as the new Director of Public & Governmental Affairs. In this key role, she will serve as a vital link between the GBI and the general public, as well as the media, ensuring clear communication regarding the agency’s services and initiatives. Additionally, Lue will represent the GBI in matters pertaining to legislation, further enhancing the bureau’s engagement with governmental affairs.
Lue’s extensive experience within the GBI positions her well for this pivotal role. Prior to her appointment, she was the Special Agent in Charge of the GBI’s Georgia Cyber Crime Center, where she oversaw operations related to cybercrime investigations, a growing concern in today’s digital age. Furthermore, she held previous positions as a Special Agent and Assistant Special Agent in Charge at the GBI Region 7 Field Office located in Thomson, Georgia, where she accumulated significant field experience.

Sara Lue initiated her career in law enforcement as a Deputy Marshal at the Richmond County Marshals Office in Augusta, Georgia. Her early experiences in this role laid the foundation for her career in public service, leading her to various responsible positions within the GBI.
In addition to her field experiences, Lue is a POST Certified Instructor, specializing in educating personnel on multiple topics, including Conflict Resolution, Cybercrime, Cyber Safety, Emotional Intelligence, and Leadership. Her teaching experience indicates her commitment to knowledge-sharing and skill development within the law enforcement community.
Sara Lue holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia. Furthering her education, she earned a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Management from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia. She is also a graduate of the prestigious Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) National Academy, Session 292, which is renowned for developing law enforcement leadership through advanced training in management and command.
