The Savannah Downtown Business Association (SDBA) has made a $1,000 donation to the Savannah Police Department (SPD) to support its upcoming Back to School Bash. Scheduled for Saturday, August 2, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the event will take place at SIP, located at 2005 Waters Avenue.
This contribution, made possible by the SDBA members through the annual SDBA Gives raffle series at association events, underscores the organization’s commitment to community support and engagement. The Bash aims to provide families with essential school supplies and create a festive environment as children prepare to head back to school.

In other local news, Savannah Police have apprehended Nyquan Small, aged 30, who turned himself in on July 22. Authorities are also seeking assistance from the community to locate Treyvon Cummings, identified as the gunman in a shooting incident on June 26 on Waters Avenue that resulted in a fatality. The public is encouraged to share any information about Cummings’ whereabouts by contacting CrimeStoppers at 912-234-2020 or submitting an anonymous tip through the SPD mobile app.
