Born in Savannah on October 30, 1971, Brigdon was a proud father of three sons: Jack, Alex, and Ashton. His family described him as warm-hearted, humorous, and generous. He also maintained a special bond with his mother, Marsha Brigdon; his brother, Jason Brigdon; his sister-in-law, Julie; and his beloved aunt, Nan Parrish. Brigdon had a meaningful relationship with Lauren Bicknell and was also proud of his nephews and niece.
Brigdon began his firefighting career as a volunteer with the Thunderbolt Volunteer Fire Department in 1992, officially joining the Savannah Fire Department on January 29, 1996. During his tenure, he ascended through the ranks, starting as a Firefighter and earning promotions to Master Firefighter Levels 1, 2, and 3. By 2004, he had achieved the rank of Fire Captain and remained dedicated to his responsibilities until his retirement.
Throughout his career, Brigdon made significant contributions that enhanced the capabilities of the Savannah Fire Department. He played a crucial role in the department achieving its ISO Class 1 Classification and was instrumental in securing Accreditation through the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI). His professional journey was marked by numerous accolades, including being named the 1995 State of Georgia Rookie Firefighter of the Year and receiving the honor for Savannah Fire’s Rookie Firefighter of the Year in 1998.
Brigdon was an advocate for continuous education in the field and pursued a degree in Fire Science through West Georgia Technical College and Savannah Technical College. Alongside his firefighting career, he worked with ILA 1475 Longshoremen since 2000, demonstrating his commitment to community service beyond his role as a firefighter.
Known for his passion for the Georgia Bulldogs, Brigdon enjoyed watching and playing golf, cooking, and cherishing moments with his family.
