The Georgia Department of Public Health has completed inspections of over 90 restaurants in Chatham County, revealing impressive scores from top eateries like Britannia British Pub and Domino’s Pizza. However, some establishments like Embassy Suites and Naan Appetit fell short, raising concerns about food safety violations. These inspections emphasize the crucial role of maintaining food hygiene for both residents and visitors in Savannah’s dining scene.
Hey, Savannah! If you’ve ever wondered how your favorite local restaurants are keeping their kitchens squeaky clean and their food safe, you’re in for a treat. The Georgia Department of Public Health recently wrapped up a week of inspections for eateries across Chatham County from February 19 to February 25, 2025. These inspections, just like a friendly check-in, are all about making sure that food safety is top-notch for both residents and visitors.
Let’s kick things off with the stars of the week! Several restaurants aced their inspections, bringing home impressive scores that are sure to make any foodie feel good. Britannia British Pub in Savannah, located at 140 Johnny Mercer Blvd., Suite 4, leads the pack with a nearly perfect score of 99. Close on its heels is Domino’s Pizza, stationed at 1900 E. Victory Drive, which also shined with a score of 99 and is ready to serve up some piping hot slices without a worry!
Dunkin Donuts gets into the high-scoring game too, boasting two locations: one at 5921 Ogeechee Road and another at 103 Canal St. in Pooler, scoring 99 and 97, respectively. Whether you’re in the mood for coffee, donuts, or a quick bite, these spots got you covered!
Another notable mention is Kobe of Savannah, Inc. on 1040 King George Blvd., Suite 50, not far behind with a score of 97. It looks like the taste of Japan is safer than ever!
Naan Appetit in Pooler also had a rough day, scoring 80 due to improper food storage practices. Meanwhile, the Thompson Savannah Hotel Rooftop Bar & Restaurant couldn’t escape scrutiny, landing a score of 82 thanks to issues like improper food stacking and temperature controls. Not quite the heavenly view you want with your meal!
And if you’re craving a meal at Texas Roadhouse on 23 W. Montgomery Crossroads, beware: it scored 82 too, with various violations including improperly stored drinks. Oops!
