The Savannah State men’s basketball team clinched the SIAC tournament title following a thrilling 67-66 victory against Tuskegee at Morehouse College’s Forbes Arena. They commenced their journey with a win over Spring Hill College and then gained a significant upset against top-seeded Miles College (63-61). A hard-fought semifinal match ensued against Central State, where Savannah State triumphed 53-48 to advance to the championship.
In the final game of the tournament, Javonte Landy, a junior guard, led the team with 23 points, including the decisive free throw scored with just two seconds left on the clock.
