Ardsley Park and Chatham Crescent were platted in the early 1900s as Savannah's first automobile-era suburbs, featuring wide lots, mature live oaks, and a mix of bungalow, Colonial Revival, and Mediterranean Revival architecture. The area retains strong owner-occupancy and a active neighborhood association, with Bull Street's median providing a continuous green spine connecting to Daffin Park and Lake Mayer further south.
History
Developed beginning around 1910 as Savannah grew southward along the Bull Street extension, Ardsley Park and Chatham Crescent were marketed as a modern alternative to the increasingly congested Historic District. Both neighborhoods are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
